The Corp War

A WAR OF THE WORLDS
On the 18th of June in the year X30, a nuclear strike destroyed CompCorp’s headquarters on Venus and the surrounding city of Ishtar 1. This was the spark that lit the fire that has come to be known as The Corp War.

The strike was launched by Tunsacom after CompCorp refused to sign the proposed Corporate Trade Pact, jeopardizing Tunsacom and Kulakov’s plan to become the leading megacorps.

The conflict quickly spiraled out of control as CompCorp’s military retaliated, aided by 0-Finity, and many other corporations took the chance to cull the herd of business rivals.

CHAOS ON ALL SIDES
The War saw 4 factions form from a chaotic network of accords, allies, trade deals and half-forgotten disaster policies.

THE CONCOURSE
Tunsacom, Kulakov.
The Corporate Trade Pact was a web of agreements and policies that would have seen Tunsacom and Kulakov rise to be the new overlords of Corporate Power, provided all the major corporations signed. When CompCorp learned of this treachery and refused, the Trade Pact toppled like a house of cards. Tunsacom and Kulakov then formed The Concourse, realizing that the only way to fulfill their shared vision was to take the Solar System by force.

THE ASTERIA ASSEMBLY
CompCorp, 0-Finity, Vesser, Nutri-Wow!, Juno-Cyto.
United by the Asteria Accords; CompCorp, 0-Finity, Vesser, Juno-Cyto and Nutri-Wow! led the initial charge against Tunsacom and Kulakov. The Assembly was dealt a great blow in the Battle of Caesar, which led to the Fires of Oberon.

THE TERNARY LEAGUE
Tharsco, Harris, L.CO, Benny Inc.
The Ternary League formed due to Tharsco’s desire for total control over the surface of Mars. Following his rise to power, Tharsco CEO Koprowski Masayoshi made arrangements with Harris, L.CO and Benny Inc. to help him destabilize and subsequently assimilate the cities of Mars. Once the planet was secured, the League joined forces with the Asteria Assembly to put an end to The Concourse.

THE ISOLATES
Organi.Co, Beyond Worlds, Spacersam Inc, Yelo-Yum.
The Isolate Powers chose to take no sides in the conflict, and instead relied on selling off assets to the warring corporations for profit. This technique ultimately led to the Isolates’ downfall, when they found that the Asteria Assembly was not satisfied with just defeating the Concourse, but sought to subsume the Isolates as well. By the time they realized that they had no more assets with which to fight, it was far too late.

CONFLICT CHRONOLOGY
There were several important milestones in the 13 years that encompassed the Corp War, each one more deadly and sordid than the last. Below are not all of the events that ensued, but rather those considered most instrumental in the conflict.

BATTLE OF ARTEMIS CHASM: 30th June – 2nd of September, X30
The first major clash of corporate militaries, Nutri-Wow! and Vesser marched on Tunsacom’s largest uranium refinery on Venus but were ultimately defeated by Kulakov’s gunship fleet.

SARAKKA ASSAULT: 14th February, X31
Tunsacom invades and destroys a Juno-Cyto bio-weapon facility, releasing several highly contagious airborne viruses into the atmosphere of Callisto. Juno-Cyto spent the next several years researching cures to save their home world, and was effectively removed from the war.

BATTLE OF CAESAR: 19th April, X34 – 20th December, X40
The Concourse invaded 0-Finity’s capital of Caesar on Oberon. A nearly 7-year battle ensued, centered on the fortified city. Tunsacom’s forces were heavily weakened in the fight by 0-Finity’s military.

THE FIRES OF OBERON: 20th December, X40
Following the Battle of Caesar, Kulakov removed 0-Finity from the conflict by launching a planetary bombardment that rendered the surface of Oberon nearly uninhabitable, but exhausted their nuclear arsenal.

THE DETHRONING: 31st March, X36
In the final conflict of Tharsco’s Martian takeover, the Shogun-Emperor’s forces infiltrated the city of Eos and eliminated key political leaders. In the span of 45 minutes, the walled city of Eos had fallen to imperial rule.

THE SLOW ADVANCE: 1st January, X40 – 9th September, X43
With the Ternary League having joined forces with the Asteria Assembly, the united corps gained new strength. The Slow Advance marked the beginning of the end of Tunsacom: a 3-year assault on hundreds of fortifications across the Solar System, punctuated by victory after victory for the allied Ternary and Asteria corps. After the fall of Tunsacom’s capital city of Kirnis on Ceres, Kulakov turned on their former ally and aided the united corps in hunting down the CEO of Tunsacom, Gabriel Tunsa, who had been hiding in the Kuiper Belt for over a year.

THE END OF THE WAR: 9th September, X43
Gabriel Tunsa was tried and executed publicly in Edge City on Terra. The site of his execution is now where the Ministry Building resides, as the Corp War paved the way for the Union.
